ONE-YEAR

GOAL

Our one-year goal is not additional programming, but growing participation in current programming across campus and community. Although there are a few new programs slated for fall 2026, they are designed enhancements and extensions of current programming. Therefore, the focus for the 2026-2027 school year is on “reach”.

The Center’s GA has been tasked with identifying and implementing a marketing strategy to reach campus and key stakeholders, spreading across Texas and beyond. Additionally, we will start outreach to state high schools and the San Marcos community, to create awareness of our impactful and meaningful programming

YEAR-THREE

GOAL

By 2029, the Center for Student Entrepreneurship will be recognized as the university's premier cross-disciplinary hub for student venture support, graduating a distinguished number of cross-campus, student-led businesses into the regional marketplace.

Collabration with the TXST community between year one and year three will produce an exceptionally dynamic period of growth.

Supporting Strategic Goals

  • Established Student Founder Pipeline
  • Launch More Student Businesses into the Region and State from CSE Funding
  • Deploy Experienced Premier Mentor Network
  • Campus of Choice for Texas High School Entrepreneurs
  • Financial Sustainability
  • Intentional Collaboration with Campus Departments

FIVE-YEAR

GOAL

Five-Year Outcome: A fully functioning Level 4 San Marcos entrepreneurial ecosystem that provides a sustainable pathway for TXST student ventures to move from campus into the community. Currently, Level 4 is in the infant stage, but is materializing through the San Marcos entrepreneurial ecosystem partners – CSE, founders, TXST Department of Research, the City of San Marcos, the Chamber, and regional economic partners.

This vision will be a city space that is regionally known and a hub to recruit businesses to San Marcos. Most importantly to CSE, Level 4 provides a natural and sustainable physical location, as well as partner support, for student businesses and ventures to transition from TXST to the community.
