The Bobcat Innovation Challenge will open with an inspiring and high‑energy Kickoff Dinner on March 10, 2026, from 6–8 PM in the McCoy Atrium. 

Attendees will connect with fellow founders, mentors, faculty, and community partners while gaining insight into what lies ahead in the competition, including a keynote address from a distinguished leader in technology and entrepreneurship. 

This kickoff event sets the tone for a transformative experience of mentorship, prototype development, and building viable, investment‑ready business models—with attendance mandatory for all participants in order to pitch on Final Pitch Day, April 11th.

Mic Drop: The Perfect Pitch is a high‑energy, hands‑on workshop designed to help founders communicate their ideas with clarity, confidence, and impact. Led by Quinn Valentine, Director of the CIE, this session equips entrepreneurs with the tools they need to stand out.

Participants will learn how to structure a compelling pitch, craft a memorable story, and clearly articulate the value of their business to judges, investors, partners, and customers. The workshop emphasizes practical techniques, real‑time feedback, and confidence‑building strategies founders can immediately apply in competitions, meetings, and real‑world conversations.

And the momentum doesn’t stop there.
Immediately following the workshop, attendees are invited to put their new skills to the test in a fast‑paced Elevator Pitch Competition from 6:30–7:30 PM.
Participants will have the chance to deliver a 60‑second pitch for a shot at cash prizes:

Brand You: From Unknown to Unforgettable — Defining Your Advantage is a strategic Wednesday Workshop designed for founders who want to clearly articulate what sets their business apart, hosted by Timothy Hally, Co‑Founder of Munq LLC.

This session walks participants through competitive analysis and positioning exercises to help them identify their unique strengths, understand the competitive landscape, and clearly communicate why customers should choose them.

The Bobcat Innovation Challenge will culminate on Saturday, April 11, from 11 AM–4 PM in McCoy 119, where this year’s finalists will present their tech‑driven ventures to a panel of judges, industry experts, and community partners.

Throughout the competition, students have strengthened their ideas through mentorship, prototype development, and business‑model coaching, gaining the confidence and support needed to move toward launch, investment, and long‑term success.

Final Pitch Day showcases the culmination of that work, celebrating bold innovation and entrepreneurial spirit as teams compete for $2,500 for 1st place, $2,000 for 2nd, $1,500 for 3rd, $1,000 for 4th, and $500 for 5th.

Fueling the Future: The Capital Game is an advanced workshop that helps founders think holistically about growth, funding, and long-term value. 

Participants will explore how capital decisions influence scaling strategies, team development, and future exit options, and learn how to align these choices with their business goals. 

This session focuses on timing, trade-offs, and building a venture that is designed to grow intentionally and remain valuable—whether the goal is scaling, selling, or sustaining the business over time.

The Founder’s Financial Toolkit: Pricing, Profits & Possibilities is an advanced workshop designed to help founders understand the financial numbers that drive real business decisions. Led by Randy Haran— TXST alum + President of The Business Crusader. 

Participants will learn how to read and use balance sheets, cash flow statements, and income statements to set smart pricing, evaluate profitability, and plan for growth. 

This session focuses on practical interpretation—not accounting theory—giving founders the confidence to make informed, strategic decisions using their financial data.
