A program by Career ServicesBeyond the Frame, launches next week to help art students at Texas State University.

Adam Hernandez, a Career Educator with Career Services, has worked hard to launch this program.

The program includes four workshops centered around the business side of being an artist. At these workshops, students will learn how to build their brand and get their work out.

Each week a new workshop will be hosted tailoring to different topics.

The first workshop, held on Wednesday October 15 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., is “The Artist's Blueprint.” This session will help artists learn how to thrive with a career in art. Participants will learn how to find an audience as well as branding and pricing.

The second session, held on Wednesday October 22, highlights “Perfecting the Pitch for Creatives.” Here students will learn how to captivate the audience they established and how to grow their business with clients.

On October 29, the session will feature “Beyond the Canvas.” At this session artists will learn how to collaborate and gain opportunities.

The final session is the “Creative Spotlight Challenge,” on November 12. Here the students will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges. The winner will receive $500 from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and all pitching participants will receive CIE merch!
