What is CIE's mission?
The mission of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), within McCoy College of Business, is to be a globally recognized center for innovation and entrepreneurship. The CIE will provide leading-edge programming to develop innovative and entrepreneurial mindsets and skills, and to support campus innovators and entrepreneurs. Strategic partnerships will facilitate a venture life-cycle programming model to meet campus community needs of ideation, launch, growth, and transition. Strategic deployment of CIE resources will contribute to regional economic growth.

What are the goals set by the Director of CIE?
1. Become globally recognized through awards, grants, competitions, and distinguished research within five years.
2. Develop an independent, sustainable, and responsible center funding model.
3. Implement a venture life cycle programming model (figure 1) to maximize innovation and entrepreneurship through ideation, launch, growth, and transition stages.
4. Engage internal and external community stakeholders to encourage and support venture creation and/or application of the entrepreneurial mindset in future careers.
5. Develop internal and external partnerships to assist with identification and provision of resources and programming to serve internal and external community stakeholders to increase the CIE’s national visibility and viability.
6. Increase cross-campus engagement and support for, and from, CIE.
7. Provide industry, domain, and market relevant programming for innovators and entrepreneurs.
